Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital, on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, with grace and dignity. 

Loving wife of the late Leonard Bumbacco and the late Joseph McAlpine. Devoted mother of Pauline Niro (Rick), Danny Bumbacco and Eugene Bumbacco (Margie). Nana of Erica Tucker (Dale), Andrea Niro, Richard Niro (Victoria), Daniella Bumbacco, Charles, Athena Bumbacco, Carley Bumbacco and Dallas Vince-Bumbacco. Big-Nana of Reese, James, Kayleigh, Madison, Maizy, Lettie, Victoria and Rebelle. Predeceased by her parents Luigi and Palma Maccaroni. Sister of the late Mary Vendor (late Lou), late Rose Miceli (late Angelo), late Teresa Bordin (late Guido), Frank Maccaroni, Angela Harris (Stu) and John Maccaroni. Sister-in-law of the late Jeanette Maccaroni, late Joe Naccarato, late Jean Gaetano (late Matthew), late Rose Pettalia (late Sam), late Ethel Dorrance (late Albert), late Eda Lonie (late Bill), late Joe Bumbacco (late Diane and late Chris), late Bob Bumbacco (late Georgette), late Fred Bumbacco (Shirley) and Vera Mitchell (late Glen). Aunty Gena will be missed by her loving nieces and nephews, and by many friends. Mom was dedicated to her family and nothing made her happier than bringing everyone together with her wonderful cooking, especially her meatballs, sauce, chiff choff and "crumb cake". She was always welcoming and warm hearted. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 10 am until 12 pm. Funeral Mass to be held at St.Gerard Majella Church (211 Pentagon Blvd.) at 1 pm with Rev. Alex Saurianthadathil officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions payable by cheque to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, F.J. Davey Home or the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. A very SPECIAL thank you to the wonderful F.J. Davey Home staff of Birch Lane 1 and Palma Gervasi, the best caregivers in the world! A gracious thank you to doctors, nurses and paramedics at the Sault Area Hospital ER and 3A.
