(August 17, 1946 - July 23, 2023) ~ After enjoying one last jam with friends, Bob’s body packed up its gear and shut off the power, with sounds of sweet music wishing him farewell.

Predeceased by his parents Grace Mahaffey and Rexford "Ellsworth" Buie, and infant brother Frederick. Survived by younger brothers Brien (Nancy) and David, son Matthew “Kevin”, daughter Kari (Paul), and grandson Gabriel. Bob also had many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Bob was born and spent most of his life in Sault Ste. Marie. In his younger years, he enjoyed skating, was a member of the 155 Air Cadets, was a pilot officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force (Moose Jaw), lived and worked in Sioux Lookout, attended Cambrian College (civil engineering technology). As an adult, Bob worked at Algoma Steel as a millwright (preferring the night shift), enjoyed swimming and camping with his family, plowing neighbour’s driveways with his tractor, and he taught himself how to design, build, and fix darn-near anything! In his retirement, he played guitar, sang, and ran sound at the Moose Lodge jam nights, encouraging everyone to “leave their egos at the door”, learn from others, and build their confidence. Known as “Tudor” on an online tractor forum, he made over 24,000 posts helping members with their tractor issues, specializing in hydraulics. He is already “conspicuous by his absence” as one member stated. Bob/Dad/Grandpa Bob/Tudor will be missed by many.

Cremation has occurred and a celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Moose Lodge at a later date. Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to ARCH or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Buie family.
