BROGNO, Giovanni (John)

With his loving family by his side, John passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer, at the Sault Area Hospital - Plummer Site on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the age of 70 years. Beloved husband of Lena (Marrelli). Dear father of Jim, Tracy and Susan (Kathy). Cherished Nono of Rebecca and Jacob Brogno, Brandon and Brittany Syms. John
is predeceased by his parents Vincenzo and Assunta Brogno. Brother of Rosetta Chilelli (Frank) and Mike (Pauline). Son-in-law of Pietruzza and the late Albert Marrelli. Brother-in-law of Carmen Marrelli (Yolanda), Mary Alfano (Enzo) and Gina Chouinard (Gilles). Special uncle to his many nieces and nephews. John was a distinguished member and president of Steel City Kiwanis for over 25 years, during which he helped raise thousands of dollars for various local charities. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations made to the Sault Area Hospital - Cancer Care Fund or Hemophilia Society would be appreciated by the family.
