BROESKA, Raymond Louis Roy

Posted

Born July 4, 1933 in St. Boniface Manitoba.  Died peacefully January 7, 2012 at the Algoma Manor, Thessalon.  Son of Adella and Jacob Broeska, late of Manitoba.  Sibling of eight sisters and one brother.  Father of Diana, Dan, Alan, John and Will; also to Valerie, David and Susie.  Step dad to Laurie and Candi.  Special friend to Maggie Willis, Ernie Marsden, and Malcolm McGregor.

Loving and devoted companion to Beverley Ann White for thirty years.  Ray and Bev met in Calgary then moved to the Yukon where they "spent the best years of our life".  The couple moved to Bruce Mines in 1987 and became active with the community and Royal Canadian Legion Br. 21, until Bev succumbed to ALS in 2004.  Ray continued living in their Bruce Mines home until his recent move to Algoma Manor where he appreciated the care and enjoyed cajoling with staff.

Raymond served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for fifteen years and spent time in France.  He honed varied skills form cuisine and sewing, to building trades and woodwork.

Cremation has taken place.  Ray will be reunited with his dear Bev under the whispering pines at Mount Zion Sands Cemetery during a spring interment.

At the going down of the sun

And in the morning

We will remember them.
