Passed away peacefully at Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 surrounded by her family, at the age of 84.
Preceded in death by Roy, her husband of 52 years, parents Max and Mildred Wright, her brothers, Harry, Arthur, and Herb, and her beloved grandson Josh. Maxine is survived by her children, Dawn (Randy), Parker (Heather) and Chris, her grandchildren Nikki (Ben), Eric (Melea), Libby (Brina), Neil (Melissa) and Cameron (Brooke), her great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Cassie, Audrie, Arlen, Mayson, Cole, Bobby, and Alexander. She is also survived by her sister Anne (Cranston), brother Alex, along with many nieces and nephews.
She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, and found joy and fulfillment in retirement with her garden, volunteer work, and traveling with Roy. More recently that joy came from her friendships with the "Ladies" of Hurley Haven, who were part of her everyday life.
Please join the family at the Echo Bay Elks Hall on Wednesday, January 24th, 2024 from 4 pm - 8 pm. Service at 4:30 pm with Celebration of Life to follow. Burial to take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Maxine to the Alzheimer Society Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District, or your favorite charity.
