BRESNAHAN, Astrid Elenora

Astrid passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with her loving and caring family by her side on Saturday, February 21, 2004. In going to meet her Lord after a lengthy period of illness, she joins husband Gordon (deceased 1985) and a choir of heavenly angels. Astrid (Tjader) was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba in 1916. Astrid will be missed by daughters Betty-Lou McChesney (Douglas) and Linda Reynolds (Ross) and many good friends. She also leaves behind her grandchildren David Reynolds (Carolyn), Sandy Lucchini (John) in Trail, B.C., and James McChesney (Tanya), Keri-Lyn McFarling (Jason) and Gordon McChesney (Maria Chiarello), all now residing in Toronto. She was great-grandmother to Jake and Jeremy Lucchini and to Jillian and Joselyn Reynolds and an aunt and great aunt to many nephews and nieces. Astrid was predeceased by her three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by Jack and Kaye Bresnahan and Don and Pat Bresnahan. The family wishes to thank her physicians Drs. Susan Febbraro, Lee, and Mossing, and the nursing staff of General and Plummer Hospital sites and Group Health Centre as well as Community Care Access and Red Cross workers who helped make her last months comfortable and meaningful. A Visitation and funeral service will take place at Willowgrove United Church on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 beginning 11:30 am with funeral at 1:00 pm followed by a reception in the Friendship Hall. Contributions in Astrid’s memory may be made to Willowgrove Music Ministry of Gifts and Memorials, to the Canadian Red Cross or Canadian Cancer Society.
