BRASON, Myril Hilda (Sundstrom)

Posted

May 17, 1920 – March 2, 2012 – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Myril Brason on Friday, March 2, 2012 in her 92nd year. Daughter of the late Peter and Hilda Sundstrom of Searchmont. Loving wife of the late Arnold Frederick Brason. Mother of Terry (wife Lynn) of Marmora and Myril Lynn (husband Darcy) of Sault Ste. Marie. Grandmother of Amanda and Danielle. Predeceased by siblings, Ivor, Roy, Gertrude, Bertha, Pearl, Mabel, Herman, Glen, Lloyd and Betty. Myril was born and raised in Searchmont and with her siblings, helped her parents operate the Searchmont Hotel. A long-time employee of Sears, Myril spoke fondly of her co-workers and her many customers and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed curling and cross-country skiing and was an avid outdoorswoman. Her hobbies of rock-hounding, hiking, backpacking, fishing and guiding spoke volumes of her love for the hills, lakes, rivers and streams of Algoma. The family acknowledges the loving care provided by the nursing staff at the Sault Area Hospital Plummer Site and the entire staff at the Great Northern Nursing Centre. To honour her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A private family gathering will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 705-759-2522. Expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com.
