At the age of 87 years, Ruth Evelyn Black of Hilton Beach, Ontario peacefully passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019.
Ruth is the beloved mother of Gary of Vancouver, and grandmother to Hawna and Quinn of Vancouver and Steven, Jennifer, and Cindy (aka Miss Hilton) of Winnipeg. Ruth is predeceased this spring by both her husband of 69 years, Bob, and her eldest son, Tom. Ruth will be remembered for her contagious laughter and the strong bonds she built in her community. She will be missed by the deer of the island, who she helped to keep fat each winter.
Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held. Memorial donations to the Northshore Health Network Matthews Site Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family.
