With sadness and much love our family announces the passing of Nellie. Daughter of the late Francesca (Frances) Legato (nee Serravalle) and Emilio Stefani. Joining her brothers and sisters who have passed before: Esther, Elsie (late Tony), John (late Joanne) and Peter. Devoted wife to the late William (Bill) Black and loving mother of Nancy Peterson (late Alfred) and Paul Black. Adoring Nana to Shelley (Jean-Paul), Lindsay and Eric (Tammy) Peterson and Ashley, Stephanie, and the late Jennifer Black. Affectionate Great Nana Nellie to Koen and Deklan. Beloved aunt to many, remembered fondly by niece and nephew Toni Brunett Ricer and John Brunett. An incredible person to anyone who met her in her work, church and community and a dear friend to so many. Thank you to the paramedics and SAH Emergency and 3C doctors, nurses, and staff who were involved in her care. Thank you, as well, to North East LHIN, Bayshore Home and CBI caregivers. A private family visitation will take place. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Gregory's Catholic Church (maximum 50 people, masks are required) on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10 am. Rev Trevor Scarfone officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
