Peacefully and into the arms of our Lord Jesus, at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice, on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the age of 79.
Beloved wife and best friend of Robert for over 61 years. Devoted mother to Geoff and Steven (Debbie). Cherished grandma of Carly, Jordan, Alayna (Darren Horton), Robert, and Kristy. Great grandmother of Raya. Pre-deceased by her parents Russell and Stella Atkinson. Sister of Catherine Abbott (Jim) and Jane Winegarden (late Tom). Diane will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, wonderful friends, and long-time neighbors.
Diane was raised in Hawk Junction and enjoyed many Hawk reunions with friends and family. She worked at the deli counter at the Dominion store in the Churchill Plaza, now Metro, where customers appreciated her quick wit and special treats. She was a tremendous cook as her special ingredient was love. Diane was a member of Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle and a devoted Christian.
Diane was known for her cheeky sense of humour, genuine love for all, kind heart, and giving nature.
A service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to A.R.C.H. would be appreciated by the family.
