It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Pat after a short battle with cancer at the age of 76.  At the Sault Area Hospital on January 31, 2020.  Cherished and much loved and dedicated husband of Mary Ann (Soltys) for 33 years.  Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Jessie Bentley of Webbwood, Ontario.  Predeceased by sister Gloria and husband Lennie Ostroski (1991).  He leaves to mourn nephew Larry (Tina) in Winnipeg.  Brother Michael (Roxanne) nephews Christopher, Steven (Nicole) great nephew Alexander all of Sault Ste. Marie.  Predeceased by niece Shannon (2008) (Goddaughter).  Sister Mary Page (David) in Webbwood.  Nephew Jonathan, great niece Jessie Elora, Ontario.  Mother-in-law Lillian Soltys.  Predeceased by Father-in-Law Walter (2004).  Brother-in-law Martin (Linda), Geraldine (Orlando), Elizabeth, Ron (Janice), Christopher (Tamara).  Treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews in the Soltys Family.

Pat was a teacher for over 35 years with the Separate School Board.  Where he was well respected.  There were many students that kept in touch over the years.  His career took him to many schools.  As a young man in 1964 he started at St. Hubert, then, St. Ann's, St. Bernadette, Our Lady of Lourdes.  He had many colleagues over the years and was always happy to reminisce and have a long chat.  He spoke very fondly of all his years as an educator.  He was a real gentleman.

A celebration of Life will be held at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (402 Wellington St. E. - 705-759-2522) on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Visitation from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.  Service at 3 pm followed by a luncheon after.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations made payable by cheque to ARCH or St. Lawrence Catholic Church Memorial Fund (Webbwood, Ontario) would be appreciated. Thank you to the staff on 300B and Dr. Buehner at the Sault Area Hospital.  We shall be forever grateful - Patrick was a kind and generous man.  You are at Peace, Love you and miss you for the rest of our days.  Finally - there is nothing so strong as gentleness.  Nothing so gentle as real strength.  Please visit Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave memories and condolences as a keepsake for the family.
