April 5, 1943- December 11, 2009- Quietly passed away with his family at his side. Best friend and husband of Dianne (Shannon) of 42 years. Nelson is the son of the late Muriel and Harry Bellmore and son in law of Janet (Shannon) (late Ralph) and Ed Cooney. Brother of Leonard (Ann Marie) and the late Jeannie. Father and coach of Lisa, Michael (Lana) and Maya Lang (BJ). Special Papa to Sarah, William, James and Kian. Brother in law of Gloria Shannon, late Andy Shannon, Val Trumble (Bill), Peggy McLeod (George), Geraldine Wright (Don), Ian Shannon (Jennifer) and Larry Shannon (Janice). Uncle of; late Robert Bellmore, Paul Bellmore, Mac McLeod, Noel Stephen, Daana Wright, Leanne McLeod, Shannon McLeod, Krystal Shannon, Alex Shannon, Rheian Shannon and great uncle to Kirsten, Hailey, Hannah, Grace, Giacomo and Andrew. Nelson, a “second dad” to many in the figure skating world, was a great mentor who trained and coached skaters of all levels. At Mr. B/ Sir’s request a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
