BAXTER, Erling L.

(November 14, 1922 - February 7, 2009) - Passed away at
the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, February 7, 2009. Dearly loved husband of Margena 'Bubbles' (nee Grant). Caring and loved father of Gerry (Blanche) of Sault Ste. Marie, Greg (Lynda) of Granum, Alberta, Paul (Suzanne) of High River, Alberta and Heather (Rick) of Fernie, B.C. Erling was born and raised in Tehkummah Township, Manitoulin Island. Son of the late Thomas and Johanna Baxter. Survived by his sister Helen Wilson (late
Burton) of Arnprior, his brothers Hugh (Grace) of Sault Ste. Marie and Max of Manitouwaning, Ontario. Predeceased and respected by his brothers and sisters Melvin, Henry (Maxine), Florence Blackburn (Lloyd) of Little Current
and baby brother Jimmy. Erling was the caring and loved grandfather to 10 grandchildren and great grandfather of 8. He was respected and loved by numerous nieces and nephews and their spouses. Erling worked for over 30
years as Chief Stationary Engineer at Great Lakes Forest Research Centre. At Erling's request a private family service was held at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Tuesday, February 10,
2009 with Pastor Jim Moffatt officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment at a later date. Memorial donations made to A.R.C.H. (Algoma Residential Community Hospice) would be appreciated by the family.
