BARNES, MARY

Mary “Honey” Barnes in her 84_^th year of Sault Ste Marie died August 19, 2013 peacefully at the Davey Home. Mary is predeceased by her husband Lucien (Lou) Barnes. Loving Mother of Steven (Judy Artuso) and David.  She will be greatly missed by her granddaughter Rachel Marie Barnes.  Mary is sister to the late Lou, James, John and Harold Doyle, Winfred (Winnie) Smith, Sister Rita Doyle and Francis Potvin.  Survived by her brother Norman (Sonny) Doyle of Ottawa. Mary will be greatly missed by her lifelong friend Pat St Amand. Mary had moved to Sault Ste Marie from Ottawa upon her marriage. She had worked for Bell Canada for 43 years before her retirement in 1989. Mary was an active member of her parish Blessed Sacrament, and she was a volunteer with the House of Hope for many years.  She enjoyed many days giving of her free time to help others.  Mary especially enjoyed the prayer meetings and bible study.   Friends and family are invited to call at O’Sullivan Donnelly Funeral Home and Cremation Center (corner of Cathcart & St James Sts.) Thursday August 22_^nd from 6-9p.m., Funeral Mass Friday August 23_^rd at St. Jerome’s Church (26 Carmel) at 1:30p.m. with Rev. Eric Pannike officiating.  Luncheon to follow.
