It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Gary Barill announces his moving on to join his parents, siblings, loved ones and best friend Zolton on Tuesday, June 29 at the age of 72 years, 29 days. After a very brave battle with cancer, Gary passed away peacefully at home with family at his side. After 46 wonderful years of marriage, Gary will be lovingly missed by his wife Sharon (Slater). Dear father of Kim Doan (Gary) of Sault Ste. Marie, Deb Fallstrom (Carl) of London, and Vickie Beckett (Wayne) of Geraldton. Grandfather of Gillian & Madeleine Fallstrom, Justin, Samantha and Heather Beckett, honorary grandfather of Shannon Byers, and Great-Grandfather of Heather Byers. Son of the late Fred and Merle Barill, and son-in-law of Ann and late Art Slater. Brother of Fred (late June), late Bert (Lorraine), late Raymond (late Terri), late Bob (Bertha), late Warren (late Terri), Nan Zilinski (late Johnny), late Bernie, late Sonny, Colleen Carbone (Tony), Marlene Thompson (Art), late Ducky (Murielle), Jackie Fry (Bud) and Tommy. Brother-in-law of Roger Slater (Gail), Doug Slater, Garry Slater (late Dorry), Sandra Slater-Possamai (Shawn) and Mary Speers (Dan). He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Enjoy the eternal fishing! Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 26 Carmel Road, on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 3:00 pm, followed by a graveside service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Monsignor Victor Amadio officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to ARCH (Sault Ste. Marie) or the House of Kin (Sudbury). Thank you to all for your caring and support.
