On December 31, 2021, Elda Gladys Baldelli passed away after a brief illness. In Oakville, Ontario, with family at her bedside, she went gently and peacefully.

Predeceased by her husband, Tino, sisters Mary (Allen) Pritchard and Margaret (Roger) Coletti and brother-in-law Sandro Baldelli.  Survived by her children and grandchildren:  Robert and daughters Evelina and Giovanna, Angela (Jeff Blushke) and sons Ryan and Corey, and Raymond (Catherine) and son Adam.  Also, survived by her sisters-in-law:  Sandra Damignani and Natalie Baldelli.

Mom had fond memories of time spent with friends and family at camp in Brimley, Michigan.  Church was always a very important part of her life.  She enjoyed going out with her girlfriends and she was an excellent cook.  She taught her family and friends how to make all kinds of Italian dishes and we will remember her by her recipes.  She had many hobbies, and she was very good at them.  She kept busy with all kinds of crafts and in more recent years cross-stitch and puzzles gave her something to do.

She touched the lives of so many people.  She encouraged her children to pursue their education and then she kept them humble and grounded after that.  As “Nonni", she made all her grandchildren feel very loved by her kindness and giving.  They all had a very special place in her heart.  She was so happy to be welcomed into the Baldelli family and she was very proud of her family.  That became even more evident to us after she had to leave her home in Sault Ste Marie.

Parkinson’s disease was mom’s greatest challenge in her final years, and she became very frustrated as she lost her independence.  She also missed dad dearly and thought about him every day.  We like to think they are together again.
The family is very thankful and appreciative for the loving care mom received during her final months at The Waterford Long Term Care Residence.

In keeping with mom’s wishes, a small private funeral is being planned.  Due to Covid and the difficulties associated with travel and gathering, the funeral will take place at a later date.  If you feel compelled, please make a donation to the charity of your choice or do an act of kindness in her memory.
