It is with great sadness that we announce Cecelia’s peaceful passing on January 16, 2024, at the age of 79 with family by her side.
Predeceased by her dedicated partner of over 30 years Jorma Vaittinen, and her loving late husband Tom Bahun.
Beloved sister of Harvey, David, Anne (Oliver), and Julia (John). Special aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Cherished mother to her two sons Brian (Carolyn), David (Melinda) as well as her son Michael Sampson (Carol Ann) of Nova Scotia. Her visits will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Jack and McKenzie.
To capture her character in words would be an impossible task, but many will remember her from the years she spent working the deli counter at Pino's before her well-deserved retirement at 72. From the time she spent with Jorma socializing at the Eagles, or the many trips she made to R.J.'s to get her scratch tickets and supplies for her endless baking. Baking she would freely and happily give to everyone she could.
A loving mom to everyone and more than we could have asked for. She will be remembered fondly with a smile by all who knew her. The echoes of her loud, raspy laugh will carry on in our hearts forever.
You will be missed immensely mom.
