AYERS, Leandro John

Posted

Ayers

The family of Leandro Ayers regrets to announce his sudden passing on February 25, 2022, at the age of 31. Treasured son of Pam (nee Maki) and the late Roy Ayers. Loving brother of Elpidio Daniel Ayers (Sarah) and Ana Paula Ayers. Beloved uncle to Ezra and Eli Ayers. Grandson of Edna and the late Gilchrist Ayers of Orillia, and the late Elmer Maki and late Anna Maki (late Ted Grunt) of Sault Ste. Marie. Leandro will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Born in Carapicuiba, Brazil, Leandro and his siblings were adopted into Pam & Roy's loving home in Canada in 1997. He was a bright, funny, enterprising, and generous soul. He was fortunate to have traveled coast to coast throughout his new country and was so proud of his time of service in the Canadian Armed Forces. He loved to go fishing, camping, and exploring. He is remembered for his work ethic and from a young age when asked "what are you up to, Leandro?", he would answer "Trabalhando!" (Working!). He loved his adventures with friends, his many pets, and nothing could bring a brighter smile to his face than the time he spent with his dear nephews.

Leandro was so much more than his struggles over the past few years, and those memories sustain us. Remember to lead with kindness always, as you rarely know the journey someone is on.

Family and friends are invited to visit at O'Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St. James Street, SSM) on Monday, March 7, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be a memorial service that will follow at 1:30 p.m. Face masks are required, and the use of hand sanitizer is appreciated.
