ARMSTRONG, Thomas Milton

(1932 – 2014) –With thanks to a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father and Papa on Sunday, October 19, 2014.  Beloved husband of Polly.  Loving father of Karen Jagger (Rick), Peter Penfold (Debbie), Colleen Nott, Tracy Penfold-Plourde and Tom Jr. (Jen).  Grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 7.  Born to the late William Floyd and Edith Caroline Armstrong.  Survived by his sister-in-law Joyce Armstrong (late Bob), Marjorie Armstrong (late Alec) and predeceased by Cal, Ted, Ellen, Bertha, Katherine and Margaret.  Doting uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Tom had a strong passion for his community.  He was a retired fire fighter and will be missed by many friends he worked and played with over the years.  In keeping with Tom’s wishes there will be no funeral service.  A private family celebration of Tom’s life will take place at a later date.  Memorial contributions to ARCH would be appreciated by the family.  Thank you to Dr. Yee for the care and compassion you gave Tom over the last couple of years.  In addition, the family would like to express their gratitude to his PSW’s, nurses, and other caregivers that helped Dad while he was still at home.  Our sincere appreciation for the incredible care given to Tom by the staff, volunteers (Alanah and Christine) at ARCH.  (Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 705-759-2522).
