It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of the love of our lives Stan Armstrong on Monday, March 6, 2023 at the age of 84. Nothing could have prepared us for this devastating loss but we are holding onto each other with his lessons of love and strong family values. He was surrounded by loved ones and we held his hands as he slipped away.
Left to mourn his passing are his beautiful partner of 62 years, Joan, and children Linda (Larry Sirie), Christine (Nick Polutanovich) and our dear Allison (Tom Kitson) who passed away 11 years ago. Cherished Grandfather of Mitchell and Daniel Sirie, Samantha (Dan Dick) and Steven Porte, Justin (Erin Mallinger) and Jenna Polutanovich. Beloved Great Grampa of Maddy and Jackson. Stan is predeceased by parents Robert and Leota Armstrong, brothers Bob (Shirley) and Eldon (Lauris), and sister Dorothy Olar (Alex). Sister Lois Burton (late Paul) is the last of the siblings at 98 years young - Stan loved them all so much. Brother-in-law and friend of David Healey (Gerry), Victor Healey (Eleanor) Malcolm Healey (Shirley), and Jackie Healey. Many nieces and nephews will remember his beautiful smile, sparkling eyes and kind, gentle manner.
Our dad was a 'Parts Man', with stock numbers in his brain all the time... His many years working for H.E. Brown allowed him to help many people, and he loved every minute of it - even the late night call-outs and requests for assistance. He always had a pen and paper in his shirt pocket right up to the end. He was a special, one-of-a kind of person. His passing leaves a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. Please remember him with a smile.
We met a lot of caring and compassionate Doctors and Nurses, Paramedics and hospital staff who helped us along the way, and we are so grateful for your compassion, and kind attention to our dad.
Friends are welcome to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Memorial service to follow at 1 pm. Mrs. Helen Smith officiating.
