Archibald, Joan

Peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Thessalon Hospital on Thursday December 12, 2013.  Joan Archibald in her 79th year, beloved wife of the late Donald Archibald.  Loving mother of Donald, Michael, Trudy ( Nevin ) all of Thessalon and Christopher ( Joanne ) of Sault Ste. Marie.  Special Grandma to Heather Baic ( Clint ), Derek Archibald ( Lindsay ), Kurtis Archibald ( Jessica ), Elizabeth ( Brad ), Robert and Thomas and Great-Grandmother of Tucker Baic, Connor and Caedan Archibald, Landon Pelchat and Hailey Archibald.  Dear daughter of the late Roy and Mable Byham and daughter-in-law of the late Gertrude Bellmore ( late George ).  Dear sister of Murray Byham ( Shirley ), Marilyn Lisk, Mike Gagnon and the late Robert.  Dear sister-in-law of Gerry ( Carolyn and The Late Barbara), Shirley ( Jim ).   Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Joan was a great lover of animals and enjoyed her flower gardens.  Her sense of humour will be fondly remembered by all.  Private family visitation will be followed by a public funeral service at St Ambrose Catholic Church on Monday December 16, 2013 at 11 o’clock.  Cremation followed by spring interment in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Donations to the Algoma Manor Charitable Foundation, Blind River District Health Centre – Thessalon Site or the Alzheimer’s Society gratefully accepted.  Special thanks to Algoma Manor, Denise, Paulina, Esther, The Nursing Staff and Thessalon Hospital, Lucy, Brittany, Cathy, Pam and Joanne and special thanks to Dr. Eric Haapala for the wonderful care that Joan has received.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon, Ontario.  www,beggsfh.com
