With heavy hearts we accept the peaceful passing of Tony who has joined his beloved son TJ and his parents who have their arms open for him. Tony passed with his wife Rose by his side, who he shared 43 years with, at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, December 15, 2023 in his 78th year.

Tony will always be remembered as a loving Dad to Denise. Proud grandpa of Cody (Alicia) and great grandpa of Elijah and Aeliyah. Dearest son of the late Guiseppe “Joe” and the late Iva (nee Greco). Brother of Tommaso (Ada), Maxine Sartor (Lou) and Teresa Porco (John). Son-in-law of the late Yvonne and the late Neil McEwan. Respected brother-in-law of Marian Wood, Carolyn Proulx, Wayne Roe, Bill McEwan, Russell McEwan, late Lynda McEwan, Penny McEwan, Neil McEwan Jr, and Debbie Beesley (Don). Nephew of Elena Porto (late Riccardo) and the late Tuillio Greco (Norma) of Hamilton, Ontario. Tony will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews especially Joey and Tammy.

Special thanks to his numerous trusted friends who visited Tony in the hospital to make him laugh and brighten his day. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the dice ladies who entertained Tony for many years playing dice. Tony was a hardworking, family man born in Calabria, Italy in 1946. His parents brought him and his siblings to Canada, settling in Sault Ste. Marie. They set the example of hard work as his father opened a shop beside the house making ornate wrought iron for many years. When his father passed, Tony changed the shop to an auto repair business.

Tony continued to care for his mother until she passed away. He continued on to teach automotive at Sault College and went to University of Toronto for his teaching certificate so he could teach high school. He was dedicated to his beloved “Rosie” and took care of her as her health declined. He never complained and became very good at washing dishes and making scrubbing mops for the floors. He continued to help everyone with mechanical problems.

Thank you to the wonderful nurses and doctors of 3C at the Sault Area Hospital who made Tony comfortable.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:00 noon with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Memorial donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

We take great comfort knowing that Tony will be reunited with his beloved son, TJ at their most memorable hunting spot, where TJ shot his first moose while with his dad. Rest now Tony! You are loved so much. www.northwoodfuneral.com

Rosie loves you forever and Denise will always think of your loving advice.
