MAYNOOTH, Ireland — Jaclyn Lee carded the best round of the day to lead Canada to a seventh-place finish at the world amateur women's team golf championship.

The 21-year-old Calgary golfer shot an 8-under 65 to help Canada finish at 7 under for the 72-hole event.

Lee, Maddie Szeryk of London, Ont., and Naomi Ko of Victoria pushed Canada up the leaderboard every day. The team was tied for 39th after the first round, tied for 23rd after the second and 12th after the third.

The United States won the event by 10 strokes, finishing at 29 under.

Individually, Lee finished fifth at 8 under, nine strokes back of winner Ayean Cho of South Korea.
