The Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District would like to extend our most heartfelt thanks to the community for their incredible support of the online IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s.

Despite the past year being very challenging for people and businesses who were facing their own financial and personal challenges, the walk raised over $76,000 towards the over $400,000 that needs to be raised annually for local services.

We are so grateful to everyone for pulling together as a community to support the need for services that are only increasing each year.

Each step that was taken walking, skating, skiing or snowshoeing helped to raise awareness and funds for services that make a difference in our community.

The quality of life of persons living with a dementia improve with the services that are provided such as education, support and counseling, recreation therapy, and the Minds in Motion Program.

These services have been adapted and continue throughout the pandemic to ensure that the families that we serve have the tools to navigate their journey with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
