The SSM Lions Club held their 50/50 draw on Dec. 8 at 8 p.m. at Lions Place. Susan and John Boileau of Thessalon were the lucky winners of $7,500 with ticket #0412.

Andy Pedersen, a long-time Lions Club member sold the ticket to the winning couple. The Boileaus appreciate the great work done by the Lion’s Club. In the past, they have assisted in cleaning the Lions Club Pointe Des Chenes RV Park and also volunteered with the Club’s annual Rose Day.

We are pleased to announce that the net lottery proceeds of $7,021 will support local charities such as the Salvation Army, St. Vincent Place, Christmas Cheer and other organizations.  The SSM Lions Club appreciates the community for its continued support.

The Lions Club volunteered over 480 service hours within our city through this draw activity. A huge thank you to goes to Pino’s Get Fresh, Metro Market Mall and Metro Northern Avenue for allowing tickets to be sold in these locations and for their wonderful hospitality.

Please visit the new SSM Lions Club e-clubhouse website here to find out more about the Lions Club.

The club is always seeking civic-minded men and women to join them in making a difference in the community. Our club gives members an opportunity to advance worthy causes, serve with friends, and become leaders in the community.

If anyone is interested in joining please contact the Membership Committee Chair at [email protected] and he can provide you with further information.
