NEWS RELEASE
CLEAN NORTH
*************************
The red wiggler worms from Echo Bay Central School will be visiting the town of Desbarats on Saturday, June 2 as part of the Sustain Algoma Expo.

Last fall, Clean North volunteers assisted student lead Peyton Orr and her composting committee with the set-up of indoor worm composting boxes in two classrooms at the Echo Bay school, the Grade 5/6 class and the J/S Kindergarten class.

The students have been feeding the worms all winter with fruit and vegetable scraps generated at the school through healthy lunches and snacks.

It’'s now time to harvest the compost for use in the school garden and this will take place as a hands-on activity sponsored by Clean North.

So please come out this Saturday, June 2, and help us ‘sort the worms from the compost’ between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Desbarats arena.

Other attractions at the Sustain Algoma Expo includes: Entomica, with their live insects, Face painting, Smokey the Bear, and a Buffet breakfast. For more information, please visit here, call 705-945-1573 or visit www.cleannorth.org.
