The final week of ticket sales has begun for the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie’s largest fundraiser of the year: the Rotaryfest Take Your Pick Draw. Due to COVID-19, this is the first year the draw has been held outside of the club’s summer festival.

“We are so grateful to our many returning supporters who bought their ticket again this year, and to our first-time ticket purchasers. We still have a long way to go towards our goal of selling 19,000 tickets,” shared Rotary events manager, Carolyn O’Connor.

“Typically we sell over 30 per cent of our tickets during the week of the festival, with many of those sales taking place along the parade route. Even though this year’s ticket sales have been resilient, we can’t be certain whether this year’s draw will raise the money we need to continue our support of local charities comparable to what we have done in the past.”

Landon Odom, co-chair of the draw committee says Rotary still has many unsold tickets that need a good home.

“The needs this year are greater than ever and we have lost our most effective way to sell tickets –  through our parade, the Rotaryfest summer festival, and much of our direct selling through volunteers,” explained Odom. “Please buy a ticket through our online portal at www.rotaryfest.com, or call the office at 705-945-1279, or stop at one of the many locations around town.”

Fellow co-chair, Mark Pavoni, added, “We have tickets in more retail locations than ever before, so please keep an eye out around town and pick up your ticket in support of Rotary charities!”

The Rotaryfest website has a map showing over 60 ticket-carrying locations from Goulais River to Thessalon.

One grand prize winner will be drawn at 9 p.m., this Saturday, Nov. 21. Full draw details can be found online.
