Sun Life Financial has partnered with Canadian Blood Services to help ensure lifesaving blood products are available to hospital patients in need. As part of their dedication to their community Sun Life Financial has generously adopted the July 30, 31 and Aug. 1 blood donor clinic and committed to recruit new donors and fill appointments to help collect 288 donations at the clinic.

“We all know the importance of giving the gift of life. I encourage the residents of Sault Ste. Marie to partner with us, roll up their sleeves and make a donation. It’s a terrific way to help hospital patients in our community. We are pleased and proud to have the opportunity to help give life in this way,” says Melanie Pavelich, Advisor, Sun Life Financial - Northern Gateway Financial Centre.

“We are very excited about making a real difference in the lives of Canadian hospital patients. This year, 100,000 new blood donors are needed across Canada to meet patient needs — including 450 needed right here in our community. We invite Sault Ste. Marie residents to join us and make an appointment to donate blood.” says Pavelich.

You can take part by making an appointment to give life at www.blood.ca or by calling 1 888 2DONATE (1 888 236 6283). The clinic takes place at the Bridgeview Banquet Hall, 455 Queen Street West, Sault Ste. Marie:

  • Monday, July 30 from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 1 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

By adopting a clinic, organizations can make a difference in the lives of hospital patients. Canadian Blood Services will work with interested organizations to plan and support their involvement.
