As we get ready for a COVID Christmas season, an increasing number of Canadian families are experiencing increasing economic uncertainty. This year the Steelworkers Humanity Fund has contributed $226,750 to 117 food banks across Canada.

“Many Steelworkers, their families, and entire communities have been affected by the pandemic. In that context, our members who are still at work know about the importance of giving back,” said Ken Neuman, President of the Steelworkers Humanity Fund. “This is why this year’s Steelworkers Humanity Fund donation to food banks and other organizations across Canada is all the more important”.

In keeping with this, USW Locals 2251, 2724, 9548 and 8748 were happy to announce their annual Christmas donations.

The Steelworkers Humanity Fund donated $4,000 to the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen and $1,000 to St. Vincent’s Place.
