100+ Women Who Care Sault Ste. Marie Supporting: Sault Search and Rescue

On Apr. 17, 2018, 100+ Women Who Care SSM will be holding their quarterly event to raise funds for Sault Search and Rescue, a workforce of dedicated volunteers which is quite simply a lifeline for many members of our community.

Sault Search and Rescue and Project LifeSaver

Since 1958, Sault Search and Rescue has made monumental efforts to save lives in the city of Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding area.

The heart and soul of Sault Search and Rescue is its committed volunteer workforce consisting of skilled searchers, pilots, divers, search coordinators, mechanics, cooks, instructors, communication specialists and essential support personnel who contribute their skills at no cost.

During a typical year, Sault Search And Rescue logs over 4,000 volunteer hours and responds to land, marine and air search & rescues, numerous community service events, and many training activities.

Military and Police authorities depend on the resources of Sault Search and Rescue’s paraprofessional team when the weather or the going gets tough.

All of the money raised at the upcoming 100+ Women Who Care event on April 17 will go towards Sault Search and Rescue and their work on Project LifeSaver.

Through Project LifeSaver, search and rescue agencies are trained to help locate clients who wander due to Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or other conditions before they fall victim to the elements, accidents, or predators.
