It is back to school time and Sault College will be officially welcoming more than 1,250 new students to campus at its upcoming 2017 Orientation.

With activities beginning Friday, Sept. 1, our orientation week will kick off the new academic year and offer our newest students a week of exciting activities to help introduce them to life at Sault College.

“Orientation is an exciting time of year not only for our students, but also for our faculty and staff,” said Tanya Running, manager, Strategic Enrolment, Sault College.

“During this time, we are able to help our students learn more about the College and the many services and tools available to them as they transition to college life. Our students will have the opportunity to participate in engaging activities that will help them to prepare for the upcoming school year, make important connections and enhance their overall experience at our College,” she added.

Some of our notable orientation activities include:

  • International orientation on Friday, Sept. 1, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. – more than 65 new International students will be welcomed to our college.
  • Residence move-in on Sunday, Sept. 3, beginning at 8:30 a.m. – Ray Lawson Hall residents will move in and get comfortable in their home away from home.
  • Orientation day on Tuesday, Sept. 5 – students will report to their designated class, join other new students for a welcome in the gym, enjoy food, and games, and spend the afternoon getting books, a locker, a campus tour, or anything else they need.

In addition to the above, the Sault College Students’ Union has planned many exciting Frosh Week activities for our new students to enjoy. A full list of activities is available here.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome our newest students to campus,” said Tiffany Agliani, Sault College Students’ Union president. “This year’s Frosh Week theme is Unique and United. We’re proud to lead by example and offer a campus that encourages diversity and inclusion, and all of our activities are planned to promote these important values. The 2017 Frosh Week will be one to remember and we cannot wait!”
