NEWS RELEASE

ZONTA CLUB OF SAULT STE MARIE

*************************
On Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Grand Gardens North, the Zonta Club of Sault Ste. Marie Area will be presenting its first annual Purses, Pies and Pinot fundraiser.

This event is being held to raise funds for Zonta’s many service projects, including a portion of the proceeds going to Ovarian Cancer Canada.

“The evening promises to be fun with lively music, silent auction items as well as a live auction run by Vernon Bailey, of designer purses with “special” gifts inside such as gift cards, cash or jewelry. We also plan to auction ten homemade pies,” stated Hilda Odom, one of the Co-Chairs of the event.

“September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and the Purses, Pies and Pinot fundraiser is part of our campaign to raise awareness of this disease in our community,” said Zonta President, Elizabeth Kontschieder.

“Ovarian cancer is the most fatal women’s cancer; yet it is often overlooked and under-diagnosed. We are proud to be able to support Ovarian Cancer Canada with some of the proceeds of this event. It appears that Sault Ste. Marie has already started to show its support as tickets are going fast. It is going to be a great evening for everyone attending.”

Tickets can be purchased at Kwik Kopy, Grand Gardens North and The Shoe Fits!
