It’s that time of year again. On Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, Sault Ste. Marie Paramedics will be volunteering their time to conduct their annual food drive.

The 'Paramedics Helping the Hungry' food drive will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Joe's No Frills, located at 518 Korah Road, while at the same time they will be at Food Basics, located at 625 Trunk Road. All non-perishable food items and cash donations will be collected and donated to the Soup Kitchen.

After collecting food and cash donations, Paramedics deliver these items to the Soup Kitchen, located on James Street. The Soup Kitchen sees a significant rise in demand during the winter months, which makes it a perfect time to help them prepare for the high demand ahead.

Sault Ste. Marie Paramedics held their first 'Helping the Hungry' food drive in 2012 and the tradition has carried on since then.

To date, 14,996 lbs. of food has been collected along with $27,577.19 raised and donated.
