NEWS RELEASE

CITY OF SAULT STE MARIE

*************************
This year’s Paramedics Helping the Hungry Food Drive takes place Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Walmart store located on Great Northern Road.

Off-duty paramedics will be accepting non-perishable food and cash donations in support of the Soup Kitchen Community Centre on James Street.

The Soup Kitchen is currently serving over 2,500 meals a week which is a significant increase in comparison to last year.

The following items are required at the Soup Kitchen: canned milk; healthy snacks; pasta; sauces; cereals; canned fish and meat; juices and juice boxes and other non- perishable food items. Cash donations allow for the purchase of perishable items, as needed.

This is the fifth year Sault Ste. Marie Paramedics have operated the Food Drive – we are once again asking for the public’s assistance in support of the local Soup Kitchen.
