AlgomaTrad is holding an evening of crokinole, entertainment and awards on April 22 at the Richards Landing Legion Hall on St. Joseph Island. Proceeds will support the AlgomaTrad Centre being built on St Joseph Island.

The night will feature crokinole, live music, 20-point competition, door prizes, cash bar, and silent auction. Four winners will take home prizes including St. Joseph Island Coffee Roasters coffee, and a gift certificate from McClelland’s Hardware and Feed in Desbarats, sponsors of the event, a news release said.

The competition, for ages 12 and up, runs from 7-10 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for first-timers and for warm-up. Silent auction, snacks, and cash bar will be available throughout the evening. Pre-registration is encouraged, and walk-ins are welcome: $20 for adults and $10 for students. Go to algomatrad.ca or all 705-257-0957 for additional information.

Registration for this event begins on April 3 and closes on April 19. Walk-in participants are welcome.

Dedicated to building community through traditional music, dance, and heritage craft traditions, AlgomaTrad brings together people of all ages, experiences, and backgrounds to learn from some of Canada’s best traditional musicians, dancers, and craftspeople, the release added.
