Mother's Day quilt show set for weekend

STITCHES FROM THE HEART QUILT GUILD

Sault Ste. Marie’s Stitches from the Heart Quilt Guild is hosting a very special Quilt Show during the Mother’s Day Weekend to mark our 30th Anniversary. The Quilt Show will be hosted on Saturday, May 7th through Sunday, May 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Tarentorus Sports Club at 56 Avery Road in Sault St. Marie, just north of Third Line.

View 144 handmade items of all sizes, colours and patterns including a variety of large and small quilts, wall hangings, wearables and mini quilts. There will also be 35 quilts made by Guild members available for sale.

Learn some new skills and pick up some special tips from talented Guild members during 3 workshops or 10 free demonstrations taking place over the weekend. Get the complete line up of free demonstrations and learn more about the workshops by calling Margaret at 705-542-1141.

Bid on auction items made by talented Guild members, shop for fabric and notions at our hand picked vendors, save money on fabric and quilting supplies at the New To You retail outlet, try to win one of two quilts being raffled to raise money for the Kiwanis Lakeshore Club in SSM and enjoy some food and refreshments to raise money for the Tarentorus Sports Club.

“Be sure to drop by the show over the weekend and treat the special lady in your life to a wonderful outing” stated Cindy Connell, Quilt Show Chair, “On top of enjoying a unique and memorable outing, all mother’s will receive a special handmade gift.”

“Admission to the show is only $5 per person and includes entry to the show all weekend, a homemade gift plus a chance to win a full size quilt” stated Connell, “Masks will be required and our venue has a 1200 person capacity so we can provide a safe viewing environment.” Tickets for the Quilt Show are now on sale and can be reserved by calling Karen Madill at 705-945-9932.

Stitches From the Heart Quilt Guild was created in 1992.  Our Guild has grown considerably from the original group of 6 ladies who started meeting prior to the Guild’s creation. We currently have over 100 members and will be celebrating our 30th anniversary at this quilt show.
