Local figure skaters bring home medals

LAKE SUPERIOR FIGURE SKATING CLUB

Eighteen figure skaters represented the Lake Superior Figure Skating Club at the Nickel Blades on Ice Skate Ontario Provincial Series competition this weekend in Sudbury. The competition hosted clubs from all over the province; it was a big event with upwards of 24 clubs in attendance. There were several qualifying events for skaters hoping to make it to provincials in March 2023. Those qualifying events included Star 5 – Gold as well as Pre Juvenile and Juvenile. The competition also included non-qualifying events for skaters from Star 2-5. 

This was the club’s first competition of the season. The head coach, Kerry Bain, was very pleased with the results of all skaters over the weekend.

The next competition for the LSFSC skaters will be the Lake Superior Skate Ontario Provincial Series which will be held at the John Rhodes Arena from Jan. 6 to 8, 2023.
