Kick off your summer with Kiwanis and Sandro's

The Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore and Sandro’s Restaurant are excited to welcome summer with you and your children at Camp Wakonda’s Summer Kickoff Party.

On June 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., you’re invited to Sandro’s Family Restaurant, 465 Trunk Road, for a day of family fun. Entrance is by donation to the Kiwanis of Lakeshore Foundation and Camp Wakonda.

Just for attending, all children ages 7 to 14 get the chance to win a free week at Camp Wakonda, as well as many other great giveaway prizes being offered to children and a silent auction for adults.

While at the Summer Kickoff Party, children can enjoy activities such as making crafts, roasting marshmallows, creating their own infused water, face painting, and seed planting, to name just some of the many activities featured.

Plus, don’t forget to drop by Sandro’s banquet room for a slice of their delicious pizza.

“We’d like to thank our sponsors for making this day possible, especially Sandro’s for hosting the event, providing pizza with a portion of sales donated to Camp Wakonda, and for sending two deserving children to camp,” says Monique Morrison, Visibility Chair for the Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore.

Camp Wakonda’s Summer Kickoff Party is a community celebration to end the Kiwanis of Lakeshore Foundation’s month long promotion to encourage local residents, past campers, and businesses to share the camp experience with a less fortunate child.

Camp Wakonda is a non-profit camp owned by the Kiwanis of Lakeshore Foundation with the aim of providing children with memories and friends they will cherish for life.
