Help a worthy cause while springing forward

Hilary Evans, an independent Silpada Designs Representative, is looking forward to spring and who isn’t?

In collaboration with the Canadian Red Cross, Evans has decided to celebrate spring in a unique way.

After springing forward due to daylight savings time and on the cusp of celebrating Mother’s Day, Evans has decided to donate $10 from each Silpada Watch purchase from the new spring collection to the Community Garden and Community Kitchen programs offered by the Sault Ste. Marie Canadian Red Cross. Proceeds will go specifically towards a Community Kitchen for single parents.

The Community Kitchen program focuses on providing individuals the opportunity to learn how to plan, prepare, and execute meal plans for themselves and their families.

Parents are presented with nutritional information and options to make healthy food choices for their young and growing children.

The Community Garden program also provides the opportunity for individuals to engage in physical and social labour outdoors while planting seeds and gardening crops to their maturity.

The harvested crops allow individuals the opportunity to offer a fresh, healthy component to their family meals at a significantly lesser cost.

As times where there is an over abundance of produce, the excess is utilized in the various community kitchens throughout the city.

Those interested in participating to benefit this worthy cause, and in sporting a new fashion-forward, Silpada watch are encouraged to do so from Monday, March 30 to Sunday, April 12.

Those who participate in the fundraiser will be entered in a draw for a chance to win a pair of Silpada’s new Coastal Colour Earrings from the spring collection.
