Guy's Auto Body breaks ground for new expansion

Founded in 1980 by Gaetano Iannelli, Guy’s Auto Body has been a family operated business in Sault Ste. Marie for over thirty years and is now breaking ground to expand their services at 1044 Great Northern Road.

Construction of the 18,500 square foot building began on September 1 and the anticipated grand opening will be in late March of 2015.

After researching several auto repair establishments in Ontario and British Columbia, the family began to explore the idea of bringing advanced technology and new features used in the auto industry home to Sault Ste. Marie.

Guys Auto Body will continue to provide customers with the satisfaction of knowing their vehicle will be well looked after.

Vehicles in need of repair will be examined on an assembly line in the same manner in which they were built and a drive in estimate bay will be available prior to servicing.

Environmental initiatives have also been put into practice and will be a key feature of the expanded location.

Guys Auto Body will continue to recycle steel, aluminum and plastic as well as use a solvent recovery system, water born paint and low VOC primers to reduce environmental pollution.

The expanded location will also include a new aluminum bay as well as seven spray booths.

Out of the seven booths, a doublewide, extended height booth will be available to accommodate the repair of larger vehicles including boats and trailers.

The use of updated computerized technology, including a colour scanner, will assist in providing an exact colour match to any vehicle.

Windshield glass repair, frame straightening, and auto detailing touch ups will continue to be services offered as well as an exterior and interior cleaning of the vehicle before pick up.

“We really want to change the perspective people have on the auto industry and develop a clean facility where vehicles are worked on with state of the art equipment. In doing so, we hope to encourage young people interested in this trade to join our team” Dennis Iannelli said.

Iannelli could not be more proud of his three sons, Robert, Dennis, and Nello as they work under one roof and are now expanding their location and services to remain recognized as a leader in the auto repair industry.
