First YMCA raffle winner announced

The Sault Ste. Marie YMCA would like to congratulate their first 50/50 winner! On Sept. 15 at 10 a.m., Julie Printess of Sault Ste. Marie, won $2,862 in the Sault Ste. Marie YMCA monthly 50/50 raffle.

Through the random number generation system, her lucky number (A-2784727) was drawn. The Sault Ste. Marie YMCA contacted her immediately to make her aware of her winnings.

This was the first draw for the SSM YMCA 50/50 raffle. When she was contacted, she was speechless! This was an extremely exciting moment for Julie as she mentions she, “has never won anything big before.”

When asked what she will be using her winnings for, she is not entirely sure yet. “I’m not the type of person to spend money on myself, so I may buy my son some new clothes.” she said.

Julie is a current member of the YMCA and has been a member for just over a year. She uses her membership to allow for her son to do swimming lessons and participate in other programs. “I really love the Y and I know the organization needs support,” Julie stated.

Tickets are now on sale for the next draw which will happen on Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. Ticket sales for this draw will end on Oct. 14 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will take home a guaranteed prize pot of $1,500.

Raffle prices are three tickets for $5, 10 tickets for $10, and 60 tickets for $20 (best value). All funds raised will remain local and will go towards helping kids receive the opportunities they need to live healthier, happier lives, today and in the future and give them the chance to reach their full potential.
