NEWS RELEASE

MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES

*************************
The Huron Shores Fire Department has imposed a Fire Ban effective immediately. No open air burning of brush, grass and debris are permitted.

Under the current Open Air Burning By-law #14-08, small, contained "campfires" for cooking and/or warmth ARE permitted.

Campfires are defined as being no more than 1 metre in diameter and the flames must be no higher than 1 metre — this does not include a large bonfire or brush fire.

The Fire Department advises that you should never leave campfires, or any other fire, unattended and ensure that it is thoroughly extinguished when no longer required.

For further information with respect to Fire Bans, Open Air Burning, and infraction of the by-law, please visit the Fire Department page of huronshores.ca or call the Municipal Office at 705-843-2033.
