NEWS RELEASE

ST. VINCENT PLACE

*************************
On behalf of St. Vincent Place, we would like to say thank the community of Sault Ste. Marie and to the wonderful people who came out to volunteer for the event. Without the community support the Big Blue Box would not be possible.

This year’s Big Blue Box was very successful and we were able to raise over $30,000 in canned food value. The food collected from the event will allow St. Vincent Place to keep our food bank shelves stocked for over six months.

This annual event is aimed at stocking the shelves of the St. Vincent Place Food Bank for those who use the services throughout the year. With the help of this year’s sponsors CTV and SooToday, the drive is aimed at continuing to provide food to individuals and families that are in need.

On average, the St. Vincent Place Food Bank assists over 2,000 families per year. St. Vincent Place operates a twice-weekly food bank as well as Soup Kitchen services, both being held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
