SAULT STE MARIE, MI — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Field Operations today announced reduced operations and the anticipated closure of the Drummond Island reporting station for the 2016 summer boating season.

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 6, Field Operations will reduce operating days from seven to three, only staying open Friday through Sunday: the hours will still be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Staffing will cease altogether on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016.

After Sept. 25, vessels can still report in at George Kemp Marina in the city of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and boaters with NEXUS cards can report in telephonically anytime.
