NEWS RELEASE
CENTRE FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE AND GOOD WORKS

The Centre for Social Justice and Good Works (The ‘Centre’) is happy to announce a change to the fall session of our free recreation program I Love To Move.

The program was scheduled to run Wednesday evenings at two locations - Queen Elizabeth Public School (139 Elizabeth Street) and Holy Family Catholic School (42 Rushmere Drive).

However, there was a need in the community to have children’s recreational activities during the weekend as well as on different times.  The ‘Centre’ has decided to keep Queen Elizabeth School running Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as planned and will move Holy Family School to Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

This program is in partnership with Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart program and started it’s fall session on Oct. 10, 2018. This fall, the schedule for ‘I Love To Move’ is as given below:

We would like to invite all 6-13 years old who want to get active, have fun and make some new friends to join us at both the locations. The change in schedule gives us the perfect opportunity to provide more recreation hours to each child weekly. This free program consists of recreational activities, sports, arts and craft and a nutritional snack break.

We are also actively recruiting volunteers to assist as recreation and activity leaders, and at the registration desk, food and beverage.

This is a great learning experience and opportunity for anyone looking to get involved in the community and for students to fill their voluntary hours. Be a part of the team that gives back to the community! Volunteers are needed at both locations as per their respective schedules.

Please contact the Centre for more information.
