The Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore, the Aktion Club of Lakeshore and the Algoma Autism Foundation invite the public to attend the first annual Teddy Bears Picnic Auction, a fundraiser event being held on Saturday, Apr. 8, at the George Leach Centre on the Algoma University Campus, from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will be divided evenly amongst the participating organizations, to support ongoing initiatives for children and youth in the community.

Sponsored in part by Algoma University, this family event will showcase a variety of adorably dressed and decked-out teddy bears and other stuffed animals available on silent and live auction.

From the combined efforts of local businesses, organizations and private citizens, we have collected over 40 stuffed animals for the auction.

In addition to the auction, there will be a variety of free children’s activities, including “Bear Themed” Arts & Crafts and Colouring, “Beary Storytime” sponsored by the SSM Public Library, a Scavenger Hunt, Face painting ($2 cost) & Kiwanis’ famous Fishing Simulator!

Early attendees will also be provided with a ticket for a free snack for the children.

The Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore would like to thank our Premium Bear sponsors, including the Sault College CICE Program, the Grand Gardens, Jax & Hail Sugaring All-Natural Hair Removal, Libero C. Paci Law Office, Lyon’s Timber Mart, McDougall Energy Inc., Northern Dental Care, Northside Toyota, Quattro Hotel & Conference Centre, Yes You Can Employment, Viau Financial Group and the Winnipeg Jets & Thorburn Family.
