Benefit planned for Sault woman with rare brain cancer

A benefit will be held in support of Shelby Kerns on June 6, 2019 at Northern Grand Gardens, who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called an Ependymoma. Because of the rare nature of her diagnosis, Shelby will be travelling to the United States for Proton therapy treatment in the coming weeks. This event hopes to offset some of Shelby’s out of pocket expenses while she gets the treatment she needs.

Tickets are now on sale for $30 each and include dinner, entertainment, and a chance to win the door prize of a 55” TV. Support tickets are also available for $20 each and include entry to the door prize. Many local businesses have generously donated prizes for silent auction during the evening. Local musicians Shannon Moan and Frank Deresti will be providing entertainment during the mealtime, and later in the evening The John Barber Band will take the stage, followed by PAROBOL – A Tool Experience to close out the night. Cash bar will be available.
