The 12th annual We All Love Kids (W.A.L.K.) event hosted by Sault College’s third-year Child and Youth Worker (CYW) students was a tremendous success! This year’s event welcomed more than 200 area families and raised more than $3,750 in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters’ after school program!

Throughout the day, families enjoyed fun-filled activities, crafts, raffles and a special guest appearance from Mayor Provenzano during the opening ceremonies!

“I am so proud of our CYW students for hosting another amazing community event,” says Donna Mansfield, Professor, Child and Youth Worker Program. “They worked exceptionally hard to organize an exciting, day of free activities for area youth and their families all in support of a great cause,” she adds.

This year’s event would not have been successful without the support of our incredible local sponsors, including: Kiwanis Sault Ste. Marie, Velorution, Metro Northern Avenue, Ace Hardware in Sault Michigan, Wacky Wings, Christie Campers, BCK Woodworks, David’s Tea, Summit Community Foster Care, United Way, Learning Disabilities Association of Sault Ste. Marie & District, Romes Independent Grocer, and Northern Credit Union.

“The support of our local partners was instrumental in making this year’s W.A.L.K. memorable and exciting for everyone involved. Their generosity helped to make a difference in the lives of many and we are tremendously grateful,” adds Donna.

“We would also like to thank our community for joining us and for supporting our students and Big Brothers Big Sisters. It is so heartwarming to watch our community come together to make these events so much fun and successful!”

Sault College CYW students would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone involved – they couldn’t do it without you!
