The Algoma University Alumni Council recently welcomed seven new members to its ranks, with representation across all three Algoma University campus communities in Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins and Brampton.

The alumni council plans and oversees a range of initiatives and activities to build lifelong relationships with Algoma University alumni.

The council fosters alumni participation and involvement with Algoma University through volunteerism, attendance at alumni events, and participation in other university initiatives.

With the recent announcement of the annual alumni awards nominations being open, it’s an ideal time to welcome a talented group of new council members to work in collaboration with established alumni, the university said in a news release.

“On behalf of the entire Algoma University Alumni Council, I’d like to welcome all of our new members,” said council chair Tee Komsa.

“It’s wonderful to have representatives from all of our campus locations dedicated to creating an enriching AU alumni experience."

The new members are Paolo Bruni, Hannah Syrette, Josh Pringle, Swapna Menon, Elizabeth Neish, Melodie General and Emmanuel Dowuona.

"Thanks also to current members, Ash Lamba and Skyla Caron, for everything you have done and continue to do for us,” Komsa added.

The Department of Strategic Advancement and Alumni Affairs also thanked returning alumni council members for their support and dedication to all members of the Algoma University alumni family.
