Algoma prof to introduce screening of former student in Met show

In honour of Black History Month, the Algoma University music program is presenting a screening of the Metropolitan Opera Production, Fire Shut Up In My Bones, which features in the lead a former student of a local professor.

Carolyn Hart, a voice instructor at both the Algoma Conservatory of Music and Algoma University, as well as the coordinator of the Sault Ste. Marie Music Festival, taught performer Will Liverman when both were at Wheaton College in Illinois.

Hart has since relocated to Sault Ste. Marie and will provide a pre-concert introduction on Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. in The Loft at Algoma Conservatory.

There is no charge for tickets, but seating is limited. Register at www.algomaconservatory.com under events.
